How am I doing?

I am rapidly approaching my 200th blog. This means for 200 consecutive Saturdays I have been tormenting you, my loyal readers, with my ramblings and I truly appreciate your loyalty in sticking with me.

Thank you.

I believe the time has come for me to ask you to openly, honestly and objectively let me know how am I doing.

Several times over these past few years we have discussed the importance of measuring results and obtaining feedback. In my second blog, www.habitscausehaveits.wordpress.com,  which I began some 15 weeks ago and publish each Wednesday morning, we have spent several weeks discussing the importance of feedback as an essential vehicle for improvement.

Over the past (almost) 4 years since we began this journey, I have received a number of comments regarding specific blogs where folks have weighed in with their opinions on particular topics. Now I am earnestly seeking your viewpoints on how I am doing.

Are my blogs:

  • Too long?
  • Too short?
  • Verbose?
  • Boring?
  • Enthralling?
  • Engaging?
  • Dull?
  • Thought-provoking?
  • Other ____________________

Am I able to keep your attention or do you stop reading halfway through?

I was going to ask if you are still reading my blog before I realized the silliness of that question.

I need your help. I really want to continue writing my blogs and I want them to be interesting, informative, entertaining and endearing.

In order to do this I’m asking for a report card.

How am I doing?

Please take a few moments to write to me at rael@raelkalley.com and share with me your sincere, honest and open thoughts. Please don’t attempt to spare my feelings. I’m a big boy and if I have offended or bored you in any way, I really need to know.

I cannot get better by making my own guesses as to how I’m doing, so I’m depending on you – each of you – to take just a few moments of your valuable time and let me know your thoughts.

Also, if you have any ideas for a blog topic you would like to see me address, please let me know. I often struggle to come up with a topic and on more than one occasion I’ve felt quite disappointed in myself when I have read my blog after it arrived in my Inbox.

My method of writing each blog is quite simple. I write it and I do not read it. Gimalle, my wife, gives each blog the once over correcting my spelling, fixing my grammar, and generally finding and eradicating my many typos.

My reason for not reading any of my blogs until my subscription arrives in my mailbox is because I know myself, and experience has taught me that if I took the time to read them before posting them, my own insecurities would force me to spend inordinate amounts of time attempting to make each blog perfect (whatever that means) and I would never be satisfied enough to actually post them

This may not be the best way to write a blog, but it is one of the reasons I am asking for your help.

I am sincerely looking forward to hearing from each of you.

Thank you all, in advance, for your assistance in helping me. Your feedback will, hopefully, help me transition from being a mediocre writer to a good one.

Thank you.

Till we read again.
