Positive Affirmations Work: Here’s Why

Positive Affirmations Work: Here’s Why

We all familiar with the expression, “It’s the story of my life.”

Indeed, each of us has a story and it is the story we repeatedly tell ourselves – particularly the parts about ourselves – that determines the very lives we lead.

I have many clients who meditate regularly, and some have shared with me the enormous benefits meditation provides. They have spoken of the early challenges of clearing one’s mind and focusing on a singular object. In my own attempts at meditation I have certainly experienced similar challenges.

I find it extremely difficult to consciously “empty” my mind. I seem to fill it with thoughts like “Did I lock the car,” or “I wonder if my package will arrive today.”

It is estimated we have between 50,000 to 65,000 thoughts per day. I have no idea how that number was estimated but it does suggest there is very little time when nothing at all is going on up there.

Many of these thoughts capture our focus, triggering emotions which play a huge role in guiding both what we do and how we do it.

Affirmations Need Repitition

These thoughts become the genesis of our beliefs and those thoughts that are specifically about us are affirmed as fact with each repetition.

I am a huge believer in the power of positive, uplifting, inspiring and energizing affirmations.   During the course of my research, I have come to understand that every thought is a form of affirmation.  This means we are either affirming in a positive, growth oriented way or, to our own detriment, in a way that is self-critical, negative and energy draining.

We cannot not affirm in the same way as we cannot disallow thoughts from flowing through our minds. It is enormously empowering to learn that we can radically and rapidly shift the direction of our lives by practicing one simple habit: changing what we believe to be true through the regular and focused repetition of powerful affirmation.

Don’t believe me – you are where you have chosen to be because of the story you have repeatedly told yourself.  In fact, it is more than the story you have told yourself, it is the story you have convinced yourself to be true.

My clients who stay true to the commitments they make to themselves – which always include multiple repetitions of powerful affirmations daily – have, without exception, all experienced transformations in relatively short periods of time.

I invite you to take a few moments and write out the story of who and what you want to become.

Short, Powerful, Positive

Do this with short, powerful, determined and positive statements and then, at least 6 times through the course of each day, take 5 minutes and repeat these affirmations. Don’t read them dispassionately. Say them as if each word is an indisputable fact in your life. Muster up as much emotion as you can until you “feel” the truthfulness of each word.

Get started NOW and commit to this for a minimum of 30 days.

You won’t believe what’s about to happen.

And if you are truly serious, go to www.strategicpathways.net/downloads and download my free eBook “Words into action” How to Use Affirmations To Reach Your Goals.”

Consider it an early Christmas present.

Till we read again.
