Procrastination is the Thief of Accomplishment

Procrastination is the Thief of Accomplishment

There are 46 days remaining in 2018 including today. A procrastination wake up call. That means we are six and a half weeks from the annual foolishness of making New Year’s resolutions.

We all know about resolutions, don’t we?

Those irreversible commitments we make to ourselves. The massive changes and improvements we are going to implement into our lives beginning, magically, on January 1, 2019.

It feels good to know that, this time, we really are going to do it.

For most of us the good feeling we enjoy when we set these resolutions is nothing more than the product of self-delusion.

If past behaviour is indeed a powerful indicator of future performance, then it is safe to assume that most resolutions won’t survive until the dawn of January 2nd.

They will have been broken and forgotten.

Which brings us back to those 46 remaining days.

Run Away from Procrastination, Start Now

Why not start now? There is nothing magical about the new year. It is simply a handy decoy that provides us with yet another great opportunity and additional legitimacy for procrastination.

A favourite proverb tells us that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second-best time is right now.

If we are serious about making changes, there will never be a better time to begin than this very moment.

There really is never a good time. When something is important we will always find a way to do it. If it is not important enough, we will always find a credible excuse.

The more we convince ourselves of the excuse, the more credible it becomes.

No Excuses for Procrastination

I know. This is a very busy time of the year. There are parties, and shopping, and travel, and fun stuff. All of these make starting a new change process really difficult.

To that I have one thing to say: not buying it!

It simply speaks to what is i’m portant.

It will never happen unless you make this your priority. You must commit to shifting your habits to produce a different life for yourself.

For those ready to finally take the plunge, stop procrastinating and convincing yourself there is lots of time. I invite you to stop doing whatever it is you’re doing. Make an irrevocable pledge to yourself that change begins NOW.

For those determined enough to push yourselves beyond anything you believed possible, join us for 2018’s final OBSESSION: 100 Day Bootcamp To Optimal Performance.

By the time January 1, 2019 rolls around, you will be closer to that ideal life than you have ever been before.
